As a child, have you ever been spanked? According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, spanking is both damaging and inefficient as a form of discipline, which has generated a lot of discussion. However, some parents continue to employ this strategy, such as singer Kelly Clarkson.
Kelly, a mother of two children, River Rose, age 8, and Remy, age 6, offered her thoughts on the subject in a radio interview back in 2019. When it comes to punishment, she stated that she “is not above spanking.” She explained, “I don’t mean hitting her hard.” “Just a little spanking,” I said.
She feels at ease with this practice because she was raised with it and doesn’t see any problems with it being used as a form of discipline.
Texas native Kelly offered her thoughts on punishment, stating, “I turned out just fine after my parents spanked me.” It makes me feel good.
“Being from the South, spankings are part of our upbringing,” she clarified. My mother would give her permission to spank me over the phone if I ever ended up in the principal’s office. I think it’s totally OK since I think of myself as a strong-character, well-rounded individual.
The gifted book, TV personality, singer, and songwriter Clarkson just celebrated being awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
