Speaking Serbo-Croatian during her most recent noteworthy public appearance, she talked about her efforts to assist a woman in need.
Since then, Melania has mostly avoided the spotlight as Trump has carried on with his regular duties, which include conducting press conferences and signing executive orders. This absence was especially apparent at recent events, like the Super Bowl, where Trump was spotted supporting the Kansas City Chiefs without Melania; instead, their daughter Ivanka was present.

Melania has missed a number of important White House occasions, such as the signing of important laws and meetings with foreign leaders. She notably skipped receptions for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and King Abdullah of Jordan. She also did not attend gatherings for political spouses, including a dinner that Trump threw at Mar-a-Lago for Republican senators and their spouses.
Her lack of social media involvement has also drawn criticism. Her official photo and a condolence message about a catastrophic airline and military chopper crash in Washington are the only two postings she has made on X (previously Twitter) throughout this time. She posted her image on Instagram, but has mostly kept quiet about it.
