Despite having a close relationship with Elon, Maye disclosed in a widely shared interview that she was not given any exclusive offers on her Tesla. She underlined that even for family, Elon’s rigid “no discounts” policy is unyielding. What is his philosophy? “Everyone’s relatives.” Translation: Whether you’re a stranger or your own mother, everyone pays the same fee and receives no special attention.
Maye, nevertheless, isn’t upset about it. She actually seems to like the policy. When questioned about paying full amount, she allegedly grinned and remarked, “That’s cute.” It demonstrates the special dynamic of the Musk family, where justice and morality prevail over partiality even inside the family.
Transparency has long been a hallmark of Elon Musk’s pricing strategy at Tesla. Whether a consumer is purchasing their first Tesla or their fifth, Musk has always said that there are no special discounts or negotiations and that all customers receive the same price.
