As Americans begin to let the dust settle after the inauguration, the president’s wife, Melania Trump continues to be in the center of attention, this time with a body double conspiracy that caused a stir among the public.
The First Lady opted for a custom double-breasted navy coat by Adam Lippes that she paired with a matching boater hat by Eric Javits, designed especially for the occasion.
Her bold outfit made many question if she was trying to send a message -that she’s not someone you can mess with- on the historic day when her husband sworn in as a president for the second time.
“Makes her look hard. But maybe that’s what she wants to look like today, all business. Don’t mess with me kind of thing,” one person commented.
While some criticized Melania Trump’s clothing choices and others applauded her fashion statement, some asserted that her body double was the reason behind her wardrobe choices.
Proponents of this conspiracy theory assert that Trump recruited a body double to go with him to important events after the Slovenian-born former model left him a few years ago.
On X, someone said, “That Bolero hat Melania is wearing won’t do much to dispel the rumors that she has a body double#TrumpInauguration2025.”
Today’s attire is interesting. Her hat is so low on her forehead that it obscures her face. To be honest, I think that’s a body double and not Melania. I wouldn’t be shocked if Trump chose not to put her in danger after learning of assassination threats,” someone else commented.
Because of the unfavorable weather in Washington on the day of Trump’s inauguration, some people were dubious. They wrote, “The only person wearing a hat in Washington, DC today is the Melania body double.”
As usual, some people talked about how foolish this conspiracy hypothesis was.
