
Madrid (AFP) – According to a statement released by the Spanish football federation, Luis de la Fuente, the coach of Spain that won Euro 2024, extended his contract on Monday until 2028.
According to a statement released by the RFEF, “the Spanish football federation has agreed to renew its confidence in Luis de la Fuente, that he will continue as national coach until after the European Championship in 2028.”
Since taking over in 2022, the 63-year-old has led Spain to the Nations League championship in 2023 and, most recently, to victory over England in the Euro final.
The 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, as well as Euro 2028 in Britain and Ireland, are included in his contract extension.
