A dad in New Jersey bought a four-bedroom house as a considerate gift for his son.
After graduating from college, the son chose to reside in a house in Pennsylvania.
John, the man, viewed it as an investment and a means of keeping in touch with
particularly his son, Mark, who regularly traveled to Manhattan for employment from New Jersey.
At first, everything went smoothly, with John paying for the house’s costs, including taxes,
services, and upkeep, with Mark handling the remainder. Life was easy.
until Mark decided to move into the Pennsylvania house with Lisa, the love of his life.

Everything was going great, and the young couple seemed to fit right in with each other’s families.
until the subject of their wedding came up after they became engaged. The drama begins with a BBQ to “get to know you.”
was hosted at the Pennsylvania home to allow the two families to meet and celebrate the engagement in a formal setting.
At first, it appeared that everything was going well and that everyone was getting along. But when the bride-to-be’s mother and sisters, Mark, John’s wife, and daughter all entered the house together, things took a turn for the worse.
Shortly after entering, the Johns’ wife and daughter appeared, clearly distressed, and declared that they would be departing right away to return to New Jersey, without disclosing the reason for their departure.
Rather than pressing the issue further, John decided to drive his wife and daughter back to New Jersey, as explained in his Reddit post. Once they had an opportunity to collect themselves, he learned the reason behind their hasty exit. It turned out that while inside the house, the bride-to-be’s family had informed John’s wife and daughter that they were not “their kind of people” and, as a result, had uninvited them from the wedding. Horrified by this revelation, John contacted Mark to discuss the matter.
His son conveyed that Lisa’s family believed that his family wasn’t of the same social standing and might embarrass them at the wedding, hence the uninvitation. After some time to cool off, John drove from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to talk with Mark in person. To his surprise and dismay, he discovered an unexpected situation upon arrival. John’s unwelcome surprise Upon reaching his Pennsylvania house, John was shocked to find Lisa and her family occupying the residence. It appeared they had moved in without notifying Mark or seeking his permission.
The father explained that he was there to talk to his son about the wedding scenario when Lisa’s family questioned him about it.
They responded by demanding that he leave the residence, which caused the man to make a crucial choice. He recalled:
“I snapped and gave them a 30-day notice to leave.” Tell my kid that I’m selling the house so he can live with all of you somewhere else. I list the house for sale with a local realtor. This was carried out without Mark’s presence.
Lisa really made the decision to call Mark at work and let him know what was going on. He, not his father, owned the house, in her opinion.
When Mark heard the news, he called his father to ask about the sale of the house. John clarified that although his son was living there for free, he was to leave the residence because he had decided to cut ties with the family. John believed that his family was no longer a priority and that his in-laws had taken over. John then warned that a lawyer would be contacted if required and gave Mark, Lisa, and Lisa’s family a 30-day notice to leave the property.
Many Reddit users agreed with John, stating that it was unquestionably the proper thing to kick Mark and Lisa out of the house along with Lisa’s obnoxious relatives.
